Workforce Challenge:
Teri worked as a Sales Associate at Pier I Imports in the city of Carson, CA for 2 months. Teri survived a 6 month layoff. Teri was conducting a Google search and found SELACO WIB. The biggest challenge Teri had was finding employment within her field of experience..
Workforce Solution:
Teri came to SELACO WIB in Cerritos in February 2015. She was assigned a case manager, attended job search workshops and “Steps to Economic and Personal Success.” She stated she was looking for career advice and employment. She was able to find what she was looking for and much more! Teri stated that SELACO WIB was great at providing the information that she needed to build an online profile, as well as, provided valuable insight to the many networking options available. In March 2014, Teri answered an ad for a Receptionist at OCI Sitwell on Craigslist. Teri interviewed for the position and then received a call that she had been offered the job.
